To provide a method of effectively managing an energy saving function for a cellular radio network, and a corresponding device.SOLUTION: In a cellular radio network, an access node 100-A controls switching of further access nodes 100-B, 100-C to an energy saving mode, monitors energy consumption of the access node 100-A, receives an energy consumption report from the access nodes 100-B, 100-C, determines, based on the monitored energy consumption and the received energy consumption report, energy saving information representing energy saving associated with the switching of the further access nodes 100-B, 100-C to the energy saving mode, and then sends the energy saving information to a management node 150.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
