PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of terpene by obtaining a new enzyme gene required for the synthesis of sesquiterpene or monoterpene from FPP or GPP to manufacture terpene by using the obtained newly synthesized enzyme gene, a method efficiently producing terpene in a recombinant coliform bacillus producing terpene, and a method by newly finding out an acetoacetic ester hydrolase gene to use an acetoacetic ester so as to efficiently produce terpene by using the gene.SOLUTION: This invention comprises: manufacturing a kind of sesquiterpene having bioactivation useful for a human such as valerianol, hedicalol, α-selinene, α-copaene, β-ocimene and α-farnesene, and a kind of monoterpene having bioactivation useful for a human such as linalool by using a valerianol/hedicalol synthase gene newly obtained, an α-selinene synthase gene, an α-copaene synthase gene, a β-ocimene/α-farnesene gene, and a linalool synthase gene; collecting and purifying terpene efficiently by cultivating 8-10C n-alkane overlapped in a culture medium; enhancing a production quantity of carotenoid of Carotenoid producing coliform bacillus by adding sugar to the culture medium; and a method efficiently manufacturing terpene by using enzyme protein and gene thereof having enzymatic activity capable of hydrolyzing acetoacetic acid methyl ester and acetoacetic acid ethyl ester.SELECTED DRAWING: None
