To provide a pile line branching system and a pipe line branching method, which easily suppress leakage of fluid.SOLUTION: A pipe line branching system includes a joint 2 for connecting a branch pipe line T2 to a main pipe line T1 in which fluid flows, and a shutoff device 3 mounted to the joint 2. The shutoff device 3 has: a valve seat 10 that is installed to the joint 2 and is formed with a communication passage 12 communicating with the inside of the joint 2; a shutter 11 that is formed into a plate shape, is slidably disposed on the valve seat 10 to open and close the communication passage 12, and has an inner surface 13a opposed to the joint 2 and an outer surface 13b formed at an opposite side to the inner surface 13a; and a seal member 15 disposed between the outer surface 13b of the shutter 11 and the valve seat 10. The valve seat 10 movably supports the shutter 11 such that the shutter 11 is pressed against the seal member 15 according to a pressure of the fluid that flows into the joint 2 from a through hole H formed in the main pile line T1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
