To provide a method for observing an ozone layer which enables an ozone layer to be observed easily at a relatively low cost.SOLUTION: The method for observing an ozone layer includes: a first imaging step of using imaging means, to which a first bandpass filter with a partial wavelength band in a green-red system optical wavelength region as a pass band is attached, in order to image an earth-orbiting object; a second imaging step of using imaging means, to which a second bandpass filter with a partial wavelength band in a blue system optical wavelength region as a pass band is attached, in order to image an earth-orbiting object having turquoise fringe; a step of obtaining R pixel image data; a step of obtaining B pixel image data; a step of selecting a region A1 in the R pixel image data to determine a grade as a first grade m1; a step of selecting a region A2 in the B pixel image data to determine a grade in a selected region A2 as a second grade m2 from a luminance value of the B pixel in the selected region A2; and a step of determining ozone concentration n using a specific formula.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
