PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle safe driving promotion method and a vehicle safe driving promotion device that: reduce both non-alarm and incorrect alarm for a case in which a driver does not look ahead carefully; suppress botheration with respect to a driver's alarm; improve reliability; and promote safe driving.SOLUTION: A vehicle safe driving promotion method comprises: obtaining an angle θ of the direction of a driver's face in a horizontal direction, with a traveling direction of a vehicle 10 as a reference; then, storing the obtained angle θ in chronological order; then, converting a time sequence of the angles θ, during a predetermined period ta traced back from a current time t, into a power spectrum; then, calculating an integrated value IVx in which a function g{PSD(f)} based on a power spectral density PSD in a frequency range fa is frequency-integrated; then, determining whether the integrated value IVx is an alarm issuing threshold IVa or more; and then, issuing an alarm when the integrated value IVx is the alarm issuing threshold IVa or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
