PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a method and apparatus for supporting the design of a molding, capable of predicting a poor molding phenomenon difficult to be evaluated at a meeting angle and effective on the basis of flow analysis; a computer software; and a storage medium.SOLUTION: The method for supporting the design of a molding comprises: a resin flow calculation model creating step of dividing a resin flow analysis model on the basis of the molding into a plurality of minute elements to create a calculation model; a resin flow analysis step of analyzing a resin flow on the basis of resin flow analysis setting conditions; a step of calculating a flow length from a gate part to each minute element using the analysis result required in the resin flow analysis step; and a poor appearance detecting step of predicting the occurrence of a poor appearance phenomenon from at least one of the flow length or the rate of change of the flow length.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
