The invention relates to the field of construction and operation of landfills and landfills and can be used to safely store waste and reduce its negative impact on the components of the natural environment. The method of reconstruction of an unauthorized landfill, which consists of uncontrolled removal of solid waste with its transformation into a landfill, consists in the vertical layout of a previously formed landfill, where an open type annular drainage with waterproofing the bottom, the outer slope and the lower part of the inner slope of the drainage trench is arranged around the perimeter of the planned landfill , which at the point with its lowest bottom mark is connected with a drainage well, which, in turn, is connected to the storage capacity of the water treatment plant.
