SELECTIVE EXTRACT OF EPILOBIUM HIRSUTUM L. AERIAL PART WITH EFFECT OF POTENTIATION OF IRINOTECAN ANTITUMOR ACTIVITY

The invention relates to a process for preparing a selective extract of Epilobium Hirsutum L. (hairy willowherb) aerial part with effect of potentiation of irinotecan antitumor activity on tumor cell lines. According to the invention, the process consists in extracting the dry minced vegetal material of Epilobium Hirsutum L. herba in 70% ethyl alcohol, for 1 h, at reflux, after which it is filtered through a filter of medium porosity, to result in raw hairy-willowherb extract, for which the dosing of total polyphenols content GAE is performed per ml of extract, followed by concentrating the solution at low pressure up to the stage of dry extract, which is continued in ethanol 40%, to result in a selective standardized hairy-willowherb extract, with a total polyphenols content expressed as gallic acid of 5 ml GAE/ml of extract.
