Disclosed is an instructional device for learning to read comprising a pair of base, a pair of upstanding posts mounted to the base, and an elongated support bar secured to the pair of upstanding posts. A plurality of cards having a cut portion is secured to a pair of circular rings which are notably mounted to the support bar. Said cards are provided with letters of the alphabet. A plurality of pads is positioned at the cut portion of the plurality of cards. Said pads are secured to the circular rings which are notably mounted to the support bar. Said pads are provided with pictures. The initial sounds of said pictures are the sounds of the letters in the cards.
