A PROCESS OF PRODUCING HANDMADE COGON GRASS (IMPERATA CYLINDRICA) PAPER

A process of producing handmade paper from cogon grass comprising the steps of soaking used paper in a bowl of water and setting aside, boiling of water in a kettle, adding sodium hydroxide into the boiling water, putting of cogon grass in the boiling water with sodium hydroxide, removing of the boiled cogon grass from the kettle and placing it in a strainer, straining the boiled cogon grass and rinsing it with water, putting the rinsed boiled cogon grass in the blender, adding the previously soaked used paper into the blender and adding of water into the blender, blending the boiled cogon grass and the previously soaked paper, pouring the blended materials in a basin, scooping the blended materials in the basin with a rectangular frame molder and shaking the molder smoothly to have an even wet paper, removing the wet paper from the molder and slowly placing it in a drying pan and drying the paper in the microwave or under the sun until no traces of water left.
