A catalyst composition for the oxidation of carbon monoxide (CO) and volatile organic compounds (VOC), said composition comprising at least one base metal promoter and at least one base metal catalyst supported on an oxide support material comprising alumina and CeZrO2 or TiZrO2, wherein said VOCs comprise methyl bromide; wherein said at least one base metal catalyst is copper (Cu); wherein said at least one base metal promoter is manganese (Mn); and wherein said catalyst composition is free of platinum group metals (PGM).
