The purpose of the present invention is to provide:a joined member assembly method that makes it possible toincrease the efficiency of an assembly step by omitting astep in which a seam is created by machining in accordancewith a measured gap shape; and a joined member assembledby the joined member assembly method. A joined memberassembly method is provided with: a step in which asubstrate (20a) is inserted in a gap (17) between asuperposed first component (15) and a second component(16), said substrate (20a) being configured from amultilayer fabric that is capable of expanding as a resultof heating and that is flexible after expansion and areinforcing material woven into the multilayer fabric; astep in which the substrate (20a) is heated and made toexpand in the thickness direction; a step in which the gap(17) is filled with a resin (18) and the substrate (20a)is impregnated with the resin (18); and a step in whichthe resin (18) is cured.
