The invention relates to an electrified light transport means (1) for individually transporting a person (2, 3), having at least the following components: - an electric drive machine (4); - a rechargeable battery (5) for making electrical energy available to the drive machine (4); - a transport face (6) for supporting a person (2, 3); - at least one drive wheel (7, 8); and - a control unit (9) for controlling the power output of the drive machine (4). The electrified light transport means (1) is characterised mainly in that a weight-sensing device (10) is provided, by means of which the total weight (11) of the person (2, 3) to be transported and any additional load (29) can be sensed, wherein the sensed total weight (11) represents a controlled variable for the control unit (9). A corresponding control method is also disclosed. With the electrified light transport means proposed in the application and the control method, people of different weights can be transported safely and reliably.
