[Problem] To provide: a competitive immunochromatographic analysis method whereby the molecular concentration of an analyte can be intuitively displayed and easily determined visually; and an immunochromatographic sensor using said analysis method. [Solution] This competitive immunochromatographic analysis method is characterized in that: a text antibody consisting of an antibody that reacts specifically with a labeled antibody that reacts specifically with an analyte is immobilized in the form of a letter or figure on a membrane support; a test solution containing the analyte is mixed with the labeled antibody, and the resulting mixture is supplied to a determination unit that is obtained by immobilizing a mask antigen composed of the same antigen as the analyte on the membrane support so as to surround the text antibody that has been immobilized in the form of a letter or figure thereon; and, in the determination unit, the labeled antibody is allowed to competitively bind to the analyte, the mask antigen, and the text antibody, and the concentration of the analyte is thereby determined on the basis of the signal by the labeled antibody bound to the text antibody and the mask antigen.
