Provided are a method and device for voice data processing in an online translation process, applicable in terminals (200 and 300) for voice communication, related to the technical field of communications, and capable of saving traffic consumption for online translation. The method comprises: the terminals (200 and 300) acquire first voice packet (S101), the first voice packet comprising voice data of a preset period; and the terminals (200 and 300) determine that no valid voice data is present in the first voice packet, the terminals (200 and 300) stop uploading voice data to a translation server (400) (S103).
