The present invention relates to a method for determining an electrical fault of a conductivity sensor (100) for determining the electrical conductivity of a medium according to the conductive principle, and to a conductivity sensor (100) having a first electrode pair (110) which is designed to be completely arranged in the medium. An electrical fault of a second electrode pair (120) of the conductivity sensor can also be determined.
