This muscle activity observation device (10) is provided with a sensor module (20) and a detection module (30). The sensor module (20) is provided with a piezoelectric sensor (21). Output from the piezoelectric sensor (21) varies in accordance with the vibration of a tendon or muscle, and also in accordance with the extension and contraction of a tendon or muscle. A detection unit (31) of the detection module (30) detects the activity state of a tendon or muscle using a tremor signal and an extension/contraction signal outputted from the piezoelectric sensor (21).
