The invention concerns a method for treating production water from the enhanced recovery of oil, the production water comprising an aqueous phase and an organic phase dispersed in the aqueous phase, and at least one aqueous phase polymer, the method comprising: - a step of bringing the production water into contact with an additive comprising at least a tetrakis(hydroxymethyl)phosphonium salt (THP salt), - a step of separating the aqueous phase and the organic phase of the production water comprising the additive by means of a hydrocyclone. The invention also concerns an enhanced recovery method implementing a step of treating production water according to the invention.
