An embodiment of the present invention relates to an output polarity variable buck converter system with an active PFC applied thereto and a control method therefor. Accordingly, as a configuration of the present invention, a step-down regulator & bipolar controller is provided, wherein the step-down regulator & bipolar controller performs buck conversion by having a full-bridge switch which operates switching operation as a full bridge by corresponding to bipolarity of the active PFC. The switching operation of the full-bridge switch of the step-down regulator & bipolar controller is controlled for each PFC bipolarity to perform output voltage regulating and polarity conversion operation to perform linear control, thereby performing the buck conversion. Therefore, as polarity conversion and control of thermoelectric elements are to be the linear control rather than hysteresis control, a dead zone of which temperature is not controlled is reduced to supply power for each power source desired by the user.
