The present invention relates to a sound-based train operating condition monitoring system, which may comprise: a sound collection unit installed to be in contact with a train track and collecting metal friction sound between a train and the train track generated by train operation; a sound analysis unit for detecting a sound generation pattern of the metal friction sound; a train condition checking unit which checks a train type, a train location, and a moving speed based on the sound generation pattern of the metal friction sound, and infers a train operating condition based on a checked resu and a driving condition guide unit for generating and outputting guide information for guiding the train operating condition, and when the train operating condition corresponds to a preset abnormal condition, immediately generating and outputting alarm information of notifying the occurrence of the abnormal condition.
