The present invention relates to a method and a system of providing virtual reality (VR) service for providing interactive content for the elderly. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method of providing VR service for providing interactive content for the elderly comprises the steps of: acquiring images of a user and a background in real time and extracting an image of the user; composing the image of the user with a first composed image where the previously photographed content image and a three-dimensional graphic stage are composed to generate a second composed image; and outputting the second composed image on a screen. In the step of extracting an image of a user, corresponding information is acquired by recognizing the body and motion of the user. In addition, in the step of generating a second composed image, the image of the user is modulated and composed within a pre-determined area of the first composed image based on information on the body of the user acquired in the step of extracting an image of a user, and in the step of outputting the second composed image on a screen, an event is executed if the motion of the user satisfies a pre-set condition. Accordingly, various interactive content which can enable the elderly to actively participate can be provided to promote health of the elderly and help improve memory of the elderly.
