The present invention relates to a beam coefficient searching apparatus based on a hybrid beamforming structure using a genetic algorithm and a method thereof. According to the present invention, the beam coefficient searching apparatus based on a hybrid beamforming structure using a genetic algorithm comprises: a candidate group generation unit for generating a preset number of beam coefficient candidate groups by allocating each of arbitrary angle values to a phase rotator included in an analog beamformer of a transmitting end; an operation unit for individually operating digital beamforming gain values for each of the generated beam coefficient candidate groups; a determination unit for determining whether a difference between gain values among beam coefficient candidate groups corresponding to upper n gain values in order of higher gain values as a result of the operation satisfies a preset condition; and a control unit for optimizing the digital beamformer by selecting a beam coefficient candidate having the largest gain value among the beam coefficient candidate groups corresponding to the upper n gain values when the preset condition is satisfied as a result of the determination. According to the present invention, the number of repetitions of a search process for selecting a final beam coefficient for optimization of a hybrid beamforming structure can be reduced, thereby reducing optimization time.
