The present invention relates to a millimeter wave seeker and a target recognition method using the same and, more specifically, to a millimeter wave seeker for target recognition using a fractal dimension and a target recognition method using the same which use a fractal dimension having a self-similarity feature to extract a unique feature of a target, recognize the target based on the unique feature, and classify a type of the target to provide a high target recognition rate. According to embodiments of the present invention, the millimeter wave seeker for target recognition using a fractal dimension and the target recognition method using the same process a signal received in real time from a target to be recognized by millimeter wave signal processing to extract a high-resolution distance profile, calculate a fractal dimension of the target from the extracted high-resolution distance profile, and compare the calculated fractal dimension of the target and a reference fractal dimension for each target stored in a database to recognize the target based on similarity and classify the type of target.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
