The invention relates to a method for determining a roadway condition by means of steering actuators, at least two steering actuators being arranged on one vehicle wheel (01) each. In a first step, the method provides that an actual variable of the first steering actuator is recorded. In a further method step, an actual variable of the second steering actuator is recorded. In accordance with a further method step, the detected actual variables of the two steering actuators are compared with one another and in a further method step an inhomogeneity signal is determined from the deviation between the detected actual variables of the two steering actuators. If the inhomogeneity signal is within a tolerance range, then the road surface is homogeneous. If the inhomogeneity signal lies outside the tolerance range, then there is an inhomogeneous road condition. The invention further relates to a vehicle with at least two wheel-selective steering actuators.
