The present invention relates to a method of constructing a color space specific to an individual (8) viewing a color image on a display device (6) comprising at least the following steps: • a first step of measuring a spectral radiance emitted; • a second stage of construction of a Euclidean color space of the lights emitted by the display device (6); • a third step of computer measurement (7) of a field of luminance vectors perceived by the individual (8); • a fourth stage of construction of a model corresponding to the perception of colors by the individual (8).
