Embodiments of the present invention relate to the field of electronic information technology, reduce the frequency of information exchange between a CTF device and OCS, and reduce the pressure of information transmission between the CTF device and OCS. A method and apparatus for information exchange with online billing is disclosed. A method of the present invention includes a step of receiving a credit control reply CCA message sent by an online charging system OCS carrying a non-real time trigger condition by a charging trigger function CTF device, and a credit control request CCR message to OCS. Before the next transmission, the CTF device records the charging information before and after each occurrence of the corresponding event of the non-real time trigger condition, and the CTF device transmits a CCR message to the OCS.
