Administration与Government文化语义辨析及其翻译

摘要

This thesis analyzes the cultural semantic differences of“administration”and“government”in English(especially American English),and holds that the semantic core of“administration”is“a body of officials of the executive branch of agovernment”.Therefore it is not appropriate totranslate“administration”into“政府”.The appropriate Chinese translation of“administration”is“行府”,and the appropriate Chinese translation of“government”is“政府”.
