The Ritual of Chou: as an EXPRESSION under the Knowledge Crisis of Later Imperial China

摘要

From the second half of 19th century China, changes in fields of knowledge had been more closely connected with the practical political transformations. During these continuous transformations, many progressives in or outside the government had disputed on how to reinterpret and make use of the traditional classics. This paper tries to investigate such disputations on a classic of the Old Text School: The Ritual of Chow. This classic had finally been transferred into a special expression of western political science under the influence of the Imperial Examination reformation from 1902-1905.
