Towards domestic financing of national HIV responses - lessons learnt from Croatia

This report highlights the efforts of Croatia toudcontinue funding the national response to HIV/AIDSudthat has been significantly augmented by the GlobaludFund to Fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malariaud(GF) grant from 2003 to 2006. The GF project was notudonly about funding, it was also about mobilizationudof different stakeholders, including politicians,udNGOs, health care and other professionals. Croatiaudsucceeded to maintain a low level HIV epidemic inudthe past three decades. However, many challengesudremain. Unfortunately, a low-level epidemic oftenudmeans low-level priority in the society and health careudsystem.
