Toward Lean Hardware/Software System Development: Evaluation of Selected Complex Electronic System Development Methodologies

As part of the Lean Aircraft Initiative, a research program studying the applicabilityof lean production principles to the defense aircraft industry sponsored by the Air Forceand over 20 aerospace companies, this report evaluates a set of five complex electronicsystem development methodologies for applicability as a lean electronic hardware/softwaresystem development methodology and analyzes the implications of the evaluation results.
