On the Growth of Zinc-oxide Single Crystals by Chemical Reaction of Zinc-fluoride with Air II

摘要

In the previous paper, a method of zinc-oxide single crystal growth by chemical reaction of zinc-fluoride with air was given in detail. In the present paper, thermochemical analysis of the chemical reaction by which zinc-oxide is produced from zinc-fluoride, and some observations on the grown crystal surface patterns relating with the growth mechanism are described. It is supposed that the reaction process is performed by hydrolysis of zinc-fluoride due to water vapor in air.
