Pollution of underground water with arsenic is a problem in rural areas of India and Bangladesh. International development aid for overcoming arsenic pollution is important because measures are not taken and accepted in some regions of these countries even though there is a pressing need to understand the actual situation of arsenic pollution and take measures to provide safe drinking water.In this study, we focused on regionality, personality and degree of development aid intercentions with technological transfer and enlightening activities. Influence of these factors on the attitudes of villagers toward the environment was analyzed with a latent mixture model analysis. An Indian village, where development aid has not intervened, was considered as a case study. Finally, a plan to change the attitudes of the villagers was considered.
