Super Toys Last All Summer Long

摘要

Super Toys Last All Summer Long is an exhibition that investigates the negotiation of migrant cultural identity in the collective immigrant experience and, specifically, the operation of selfhood. Through the examination of hybridized identity and its mediation the exhibition considers the consequences of ‘involuntary’ displacement understood as the process of relocating from one source of culture to another. The exhibition seeks to highlight the associations attached to objects by immigrants and to make an assessment of culture in its material and psychological dimensions. Through the use of consumer products, technology and mementos I assemble a hybrid identity to relive the psychological tension caused by my dualistic identity.
