Emerging Pattern of Exploitation of the Marine Fishery Resources of the Inshore Waters of India with Particular Reference to Low Energy Fishing

Marine fish production has registeredudan average annual growth rate of 9.8%. Theudunusual abundance of pelagic resources likeudoil sardine and mackerel in 1989 and a consistentlyudincreasing trend in the yield ofudcarangids have been also responsible forudthis increased production. Introduction ofudtrawling in early seventies gave a suddenudupward push in the production and it gotudstabilized.
