Marine Living Resources of the Union Territory of Lakshadweep: An Indicative Survey with Suggestions for Development

Seaweeds, constituting an importantudrenewable marine resource, grow in theudshallow waters of sea wherever suitableudsubstrata are available. In India seaweeds areudfound more abundantly along the southeasternudand northwestern parts of the coast, andudthey are very sparse or negligible alongudother parts. The seaweeds are traditionallyudharvested on a commercial scale by skin divingudfrom the two important regions mentionedudabove.
