Liquid crystals show various electro-optical effects. Twisted nematic (TN) mode, that is one of the field type electro-optical effects of liquid crystals, has such advantages as low operating voltage, small electrical power consumption and high contrast ratio, compared with other modesA circuit for alternating voltage drive of TN liquid crystal display panel is constructed with diode-transistor logic (DTL) integrated circuits. The obtained response time of this circuit is far shorter than that of the display panel. The response time of this TN panel with DTL driver circuits is short enough for digital clock display.
