Studies on the Regenerated Pig Iron VI : On the Test Furnace No.2 : A Research on the Operation of the Furnace with the Blast of Normal Temperature

The author operated the test furnace for the first time, and noticed that it had no trouble in spite of its special structure, and obtained the following result. The weight of the tapping products is affected inverse proportionally by the coke ratio; the carbon content of the product increase in proportion to the coke ratio, and absorption of carbon found to be advanced in the hearth of the cupola. At the bad condition of the furnace, for instance at the dropping of the temperature, the addition of oxygen has noticed to be great effective for its recovery.
