Optical modulators are essential parts of photonic circuits to encodeelectro-optical signals to the optical domain. Here, using arrays of multipixeltoroidal plasmonic terahertz (THz) metamolecules, we developed a plasmonicmetamodulator with high efficiency and tunability. Using the ultrasensitivityof the excited toroidal momentum to the incident THz beam power, we numericallyand experimentally studied the plasmonic response of the proposed device. Weshowed that the proposed THz toroidal metamodulator have strong potential to beemployed for practical advanced communication applications.
