Expectation is wishing with confidence of fulfillment or the felling that something is about to happen. In this study, the writer wants to observe the parentsÂ’ expectation in English First Course Malang because she is interested to know more about parentsÂ’ expectation in this English Course. Moreover, the focus of this research is to find out the parentsÂ’ expectation toward English subject and factors influence the parentsÂ’ expectation toward English subject in English First Malang. The research design of this study was descriptive qualitative research. The sample of this study was 40 parents of high flyers students in English First. Meanwhile, for the instrument, the writer used closed form questionnaire and interview to collect the data.ududThe finding showed that there were 5 expectations of parents towards English subject in English First. Firstly, parents expected that their children could earn good grades in English subject. Secondly, parents hoped their children would not face any difficulties in following English subject given by the teacher at the school. Thirdly, parents realized that learning a foreign language took a considerable amount of time, and therefore could lead to mastery only if learning starts at an early age. Fourthly, the children would earn good grades at school, which in turn gave them a competitive edge for winning good jobs in the future. Fifthly, parents also believed that learning English at young age did not incur any disadvantages on the part of their children. Concerning with the answer of the second problem about factors influence parentsÂ’ expectation. It was found out that, there were 6 factors influenced them. They were teacher policy, curriculum, teaching methodology, school facilities, school reputation, and school safety.ududSo, parents believed that their expectations had important roles for children in achieving good achievement in education and other fields of life. Because they also understand that parentsÂ’ expectation is one one factor supporting children achievement in educational life.
