ADVERSITY QUOTIENT DENGAN PERILAKU MENYONTEK PADA SISWA SMP

Indonesian education system that uses highscores as a measure of student progress and mastery of knowledge students, learning achievement led to public view only of the achievement of a high scores, rather than on the process. Therefore, that view led to pressure on students to achieve a high score. Demands to master the competency standards with varying levels of difficulty to challenge for the students to exert all efforts and cheat as an option to complete the learning difficulties encontered. Adversity Quotient related to a personÂ’s ability to act to overcome difficulties is thought to be one of the psycological components that were related to the behavior of cheating students. This study design is non-experimental quantitative with instument in the form of Adversity Quotient scale and Cheating Behavior compiled by researcher. There are 180 study participants were selected by non-random sampling technique with model of cluster sampling. The result showed a significant negative correlation between Adversity Quotient and Cheating indicated with p = 0,000 and r value of = 0,536. This means that the higher the Adversity Quotient owned students, the lower cheating behavior that is raised and vice versa.
