English is the language used in all aspects of communication, science and technology. However, many students do not realize the importance of reading. The ability to read is closely related to interest, motivation and reading habits. Reading interests is important in enhancing studentsÂ’ success in school and out of it. Each student must have good interest in reading. Low reading interest could affect the ability to read.ududThis study aims to investigate students' interest in reading Reform Magazine. A questionnaire was used to collect the data. The population of this study was students of Communication Science and Indonesian Department of University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The writer took 53 students of Indonesian Department and 58 students of Communication Science Department as the samples. They have different interest in reading. At the Indonesian Department, the result shows that 6 students have moderate interest, 42 students have high interest, and 5 students have very high interest in reading. Meanwhile, at the Communication Science Department they are 18 students were moderate interest, 36 students were high interest, and 4 students were very high interest in reading.ududFrom the results of the questionnaire, the mean score obtained by the students shows that 66.5 of the students of Communication Science Department have moderate interest, and 70.4 of the students of Indonesian Department have high interest.
