摘要

This study aims to investigate the impact of using alternative teaching methods for teachers to improve students' reading and writing skills. This study was conducted based on the fact that the results of English achievement, especially in reading and writing skills cannot reach the Minimum Criteria of Mastery (Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal or KKM). It is caused by a second language teaching system still used conventional teaching method. The researcher to solve this problem by used the implementation of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC).ududThis research used experimental research. Research design in this research is randomly and only used post-test in both experimental and control groups. Researcher formulated the hypothesis that there is a significant effect of the implementation of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) teaching method on students' reading and writing skills. The population in this research is all class students of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Dinoyo in the 2016/2017 academic year that is divided into ten classes.ududBased on the research finding of implementation of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) has a significant impact on reading and writing skills in experiment group results. The experiment can be seen from the score of post test after providing treatment. From the results of the independent t test, there is obtained a significant score of 0,000, the score is less than alpha (α = 0.05). It can be concluded that the hypothesis is accepted. It is suggested that the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) can be implemented in the teaching of reading and writing.
