Crystallization and annealing behaviour of liquid quenched amorphous Te-Cu alloys containing 20 〜 40 at. % Cu has been investigated by resistivity measurement in combination with X-ray analysis during isothermal and continuous heating. It has been found that the crystallization in this alloy consists of two steps: initial crystallization accompanied by abrupt decrease in resistivity starts at〜330 K, and in the second stage of crystallization at 〜390 K a metastable crystalline phase which is transiently formed and gives rise to increase in resistivity decomposes to final crystallization products, Te and CuTe.
