It has been considered in the knitting machine field that those cams which have thesine curves as its displacement or its acceleration afford a most favourable movement.The author， however， have an opinion that the double eccentric cams are muchbetter than the formers from the point of view of mechanical working and the knittingmechanism，as far as the limited range of a rota ting speed is concerned.The present paper deals with the comparison of the double eccentric cams in questionwith 2 kinds of ordinary cams，together with the solutions desired.The new double eccentric cams were shown to have as litt1e vibration as the ordinaryones and proved to be quite servicable
