The numerical simulation was made to evaluate the snow-melting system using thegeothermal energy collected by building piles. The thermal output from the system andthe heat value collected from the pile and its surrounding soils have been obtained fora wide range of following parameters: the outer diameter and the length of pile，t hesnow-melting area and the velocity of circulating water in the system. The calculationswere also made for various combinations of paving materials and a heating pipe. Thecharts provided in this paper are useful for designing the parameters of snow‘melting system.
