Second harmonic high power sub terahertz pulse gyrotron with a frequency around400 GHz and output power of 100 kW has been developed in Research Center forDevelopment of Far-Infrared Region, University of Fukui. A new gyrotron wasdesigned at the fundamental oscillation with TE15,2mode. Cavity radius and length were optimized and obtained as 2.86 and 6 mm, respectively, with the optimized electron injection of 2.05 mm. The mode competition was calculated for cathode voltage of 65 kV, beam current of 10 A, and pitch factor1.3. In result, maximum oscillation power of 250 kW was obtained. Output power more than 200 kW was achieved in a wide range of beam radius of 1.90 mm – 2.50 mm.
