Some Aspects of the Feeding Behavior of Remora remora

For several years the Bureau of CommercialFisheries Biological Laboratory, Honolulu, Hawaii,has been interested in holding captive tunain ponds, and in 1958-59 conducted a series oftests of salt well-water as a medium for thesefish. Preliminary experiments took place in aconcrete cylinder 8 ft in internal diameter and5 ft high, in which were confined a variety ofreef and semipelagic fish, the latter being importantbecause of our need to anticipate difficultiesto be expected with the truly pelagictunas.
