В статье рассматривается проблема отчуждения героев романов У. Фолкнера. Делается комплексный анализudизучаемой проблемы на примере нескольких ранних романов: «Шум и ярость», «Когда я умирала» «Свет в августе».udИзучаются причины возникновения отчуждения каждого из героев, анализируется, какое влияние оно оказывает наudих внутренний мир и к каким последствиям приводит.ud(The article deals with the problem of estrangement of the heroes in the novels by W. Faulkner. It focuses on some ealy novels, which were published in late 1920s-1930s. : «The Sound and the Fury», «As I Lay Dying», «Light in August». The complex analysis of the problem under consideration is done. The author studies the sources of the estrangement of a wide variety of characters and analyses to what extent it affects their life, their nature and their inner world and what it results in. The conclusion is made that all Faulkner’s heroes are alienated in their own way. The reasons vary from being victimized by racial or sexist prejudice toudbasking in the peaceful feeling of being estranged. The estrangement can exist within families or can extend to an entire community.udSome heroes are not able to cope with it, and it eventually leads to their death, and others seem to enjoy its beneficial effect.)
