Розвідка присвячена процесу складання структури західноєвропейського міста. Проводиться експлікаціяudелементів цієї структури на етапі раннього середньовіччя (ІХ – ХІІ сторічя). Також приділено увагу впливуudантичного спадку, культу християнських святих, церковних структур, паломницьких практик та торгівлі на складання мережі європейських міст.
