У статті розглянуто соціо- та етнолінгвокультурне значення фразеологічних одиниць з топонімічним компонентом в англійській мові, проаналізовано спільні та відмінні характеристики фразеологічних одиниць з топонімічним компонентом у британському та американському варіантах англійської мови.ud(This article investigates social linguo-cultural and ethnic linguo-cultural peculiarities of phraseological units with toponimic component. It also analyses common and different peculiarities of phraseological units with toponimic component in British and American variants of the English language. The article investigates that territorial peculiarities of phraseologacaludunits with toponimic component of these variants define their rolе in the development of a language and society. Through the comparison of phraseologacal units with toponimic component in British and American variants of English language there were also defined their main linguo-cultural aspects that are represented by historical events and places, in peculiarities ofudgeographical objects, traditions and symbols, economical development and industry. These factors are the basis of individuality of phraseologacal units with toponimic component in both variants of the English language.)
